Project shipped in March through May of 2009. A combined heat & power plant.
The Spiritwood Station Plant under construction, east of Jamestown, North Dakota is the first of its kind in the state. The plant will generate two primary products: Electricity and steam. The Electricity will be used to power homes and businesses. The Steam will be used by Cargill Malt, another component of the industrial park near Spiritwood, North Dakota.
Spiritwood Station is being built by Great River Energy, a touchstone Energy Cooperative. When it goes online in 2010, the plant will generate up to 64 megawatts of baseload electricity and up to 35 megawatts of peaking electricity.
